The Spotless Mind
Hitchin’ a Ride – Sometimes you feel the need to clear your mind of your problems so that you can find peace. It may be a scenic drive or motorcycle ride in the country, a walk on the beach or hike through the forest. It may be practicing meditation, yoga or tai chi. Even listening to music or watching a good comedy can take you away. Sometimes you can’t find that peace on your own and need a little help from your friends, and that’s okay. That’s what friends are for.
Anything is Better Than That – Everybody has been burned at one time or another. It is understandable for you to put your guard up and watch your back to avoid future emotional harm. But, be wary of becoming too paranoid or you may wind up missing out on finding a great friend, a new love, or worse yet driving away the ones you love.
Baby You’re Right – Sometimes I don’t want to hear it. And, sometimes I don’t want to admit it. But, in the end, the truth is: “baby you’re right”.
Lame Excuses – Excuses will only get you into more trouble. They also may alienate you from the one you love and poison your relationship. So, own up to them, stop using them, and the one you love will forgive and continue to love and respect you.
I Feel Fine – That negative voice inside my head relentlessly tries to bring me down, but I refuse to let it. My answer to all the negativity is simply “I feel fine”.
The Summer of Love — Despite the troubles that continue around the world, the ideas of Love, Hope and Peace are returning. Now it’s up to us to turn these ideas into reality.
The Hamster on the Wheel – In today’s fast paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the vicious cycle of perpetual motion. Chasing financial gain so that you can accumulate material things comes at the expense of your relationships with friends, spouses and even your children. You also miss out on the natural beauty that the world has to offer: beautiful sunsets, majestic mountains, and breath taking beaches. So, slow down, savor every moment, and discover true happiness in life.
I’m Over You – This is essentially a kiss-off and a not-so-fond farewell to all those who have done you wrong, former friends, lovers, bosses, and to anyone else who has treated you poorly. Now you can move on.
Count On Me – Everybody at one time or another faces some tough or dark times. If you’re lucky, you have loved ones to help you through them. I’ll be there. I will do whatever I can to help you in your time of need.
Something to Hold on to – Sometimes things just don’t seem to be going your way. It may even seem like the whole world is against you. With a bit of introspection, you may find that it’s all in your mind and it’s up to you change things.
First Time That I Saw Your Face – This is for my amazing wife Julie – the love of my life and my muse. It’s about the power of love to transform one’s life. Love turns the pessimist to optimist, cynic to dreamer, the doubter to believer.
Fly Away – When I am falling into despair, you are always there. You make my heart soar, lifting it from the floor. I want to fly away with you.
Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars – This awesome game is still played by the guys. It was written as a guitar lesson for Parker, but the explosive vibe of the song drove its way into the studio and onto the CD.
